Nepal and India have a long history of economic and trade interactions. Nepal's major trading partner is India. During the last eleven months of fiscal year 2020-21, bilateral trade totaled NRS 976.78 billion, with imports from India totaling NPR 886.59 billion and exports to India totaling NPR 90.19 billion.Nepalese imports have grown significantly over the years. Petroleum products, transportation equipment and parts, other machinery and parts, rice, medication, telecommunication equipment etc.Similarly, sanitizers are imported in huge quantities to Nepal, totaling 17,17,678 kg with an import value of Rs. 4,91,482 thousand.
